How to try ProkatOS for free: download, install and sign in

The ProkatOS trial is free and needs no card: you only confirm your email. The company is created right from the program in a couple of minutes, and you can add equipment, customers and rentals straight away. Here is the whole path from download to the first rental.

What you need

• A Windows 10 or 11 64-bit computer for the program
• An email you can open: the code and sign-in details go there
• The owner's phone number, used to recover access
• An internet connection: data is kept on the ProkatOS server, so the program works online

Step 1. Download the program

Open the Download ProkatOS page and click Download installer. The version and the SHA-256 checksum are shown next to it if you want to verify the file.

Step 2. Install it

Run the installer and follow the wizard. If Windows SmartScreen warns about an unknown publisher, click More info and Run anyway — this happens with new program versions. A ProkatOS shortcut appears on the desktop.

Step 3. Create a company with a free trial

• Start ProkatOS. The sign-in window opens.
• Click No company yet? Try for free.
• Enter your email and click Send code.
• Open the letter and enter the 6-digit code. It is valid for 15 minutes; if it is not in the inbox, check spam.
• Fill in the company name, your name, phone and a password (twice).
• Tick I accept the license agreement and click Create company.

The program signs you into the new company right away. Your login is root and the password is the one you chose. A second letter brings the company code and the activation key for other computers — keep it.

Step 4. First settings

• Equipment → Equipment types: create types such as Bike, E-scooter, SUP board and the fields that matter (frame size, charge, serial number).
• Equipment: add units by hand or import a list from Excel — see how to migrate rental data from Excel.
• Tariffs: hour, day, week — with price, deposit and late fee.
• Customers: add the first ones, or create them while opening a rental.
• Users: add staff with roles — operator, accountant, administrator.
• Open a test rental, take a payment and close it to see the whole cycle.

Step 5. Connect other computers

Install ProkatOS on the second computer. In the sign-in window, in Company activation, enter the company code and activation key from the letter and click Activate company. Then each employee signs in with their own login and password.

Step 6. Work in the browser

Without installing, ProkatOS opens at app.prokatos.ru: enter the company code, login and password. The web app is handy on tablets and phones — for online booking, signing agreements on a tablet, scanning QR labels and checkout photos. The web app is in Russian for now; the desktop app speaks English, Russian and Kyrgyz.

What the trial includes

Every feature for 14 days, with small limits on the number of staff and units — enough to test the program on your rental. Reminder letters arrive three days before the end and on the last day.

After the trial

Your data stays. Choose a plan and the license is extended for the same company — you continue where you stopped.

Troubleshooting

• No code letter — check spam and the address; you can request a new code after a minute.
• A trial has already been used with this email or on this computer — the trial is given once per email and once per computer. Contact us and we will help extend your evaluation.
• No Try for free button, or Free trial is not available right now — contact us and we will set up a demo manually.
• Forgot the password — click Forgot password? in the sign-in window: a code comes by Telegram or SMS to the phone in your account.
